Does Rewind upload my photos?
No. Rewind analyzes your photos and videos on your iPhone and never uploads them. Your film is saved on your phone, and only goes where you choose to share it.
What do I need?
An iPhone running iOS 17 or later, and a year’s worth of photos and videos. Rewind asks for access to your photo library; the more of it you allow, the better your film.
My photos are in iCloud. Does that work?
Yes. Rewind downloads only the photos and videos it uses in your film. If you’re on cellular, you can let it use your data or have it wait for Wi-Fi.
How long does it take?
Usually 3 to 5 minutes. It can take longer if a lot of your photos need to download from iCloud. You can switch apps while Rewind finishes your film.
Can I add a song when I post to Instagram or TikTok?
Yes. Rewind leaves the music out when you share to Instagram or TikTok, so you can add any song there and it won’t get muted. Films you save or share anywhere else keep Rewind’s music.
Can I make a film of a previous year?
Rewind makes a film of the current year, from the photos and videos you took this year.
